Increase in Feed Utilisation

Low forage digestibility continues to limit the intake of available energy by ruminants. Studies have shown our inoculants have beneficial effects on cell wall constituents’ degradability and thus utilization of high fibre diets. Inclusion of a protein-rich feed ingredient in the formulation of ruminant rations enhances feed utilization.

The yeast cells in EM remain active in the rumen and have a stimulatory effect upon cellulose-degrading bacteria. Yeasts convert available oxygen and sugar into carbon dioxide and usable energy for efficient bacterial cell growth, thereby maintaining the rumen environment anaerobic favourable to rumen cellulolitic bacteria.
